Erica Corriea

My first passion was ballet. I started taking lessons when I was two years old and never looked back. When I was 18 and just out of high school I moved to Florida to dance professionally with the Sarasota Ballet. I met my husband there, drawn to his dedication and intense focus, which matched my own. But after a few years of dancing we decided to pursue a more stable, long-term career path and moved to California where I attended California State University, Bakersfield and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Mathematics.

After graduation I worked for 12 years at an oilfield transportation company, handling all administrative and human resource functions including payroll, invoicing, accounting, collections, employee benefits and training, hiring, terminations and discipline. My husband’s work eventually brought us to Houston, and I was fortunate to find a job which allows me to use my employee benefits background and my mathematics training to solve complex problems for clients.

Family Dynamics

My husband and I just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. After leaving ballet we were lucky to find many new ways to stay physically active together—land-based shark fishing, hiking, boating, and most recently obstacle course racing. Exercise keeps us motivated and focused and connects us to a wonderful community of people who share our passion for staying fit and healthy.

Two years ago, we were blessed with the birth of our son to complete our family. We look forward to sharing more of our adventures with our little guy as he grows up. For now, he joins us for evening walks, cheers on Mom and Dad during obstacle course races, and occasionally touches one of the sharks we reel in!
